some of our favorite spots in san francisco…
If you’re traveling to San Francisco to attend one of my in-person events, here are some recommendations for you!
WHERE TO STAY
There are very few walkable hotels to Edo Salon, San Francisco. We recommend you get an Air Bnb in the following neighborhoods: Alamo Square, Lower Haight, and the Castro.
SOME OF OUR FAVORITE FOOD SPOTS NEARBY
The Mill - The Mill in San Francisco is like your favorite cozy corner, serving up killer pastries and super strong four barrel coffee. It's that spot where you can grab a bite, chill with friends, and soak in the good vibes of the city. Don’t miss out on the amazing toasts including the Lemon Ricotta Toast and the Egg in the Hole.
Nopa- Established in 2006, Nopa has been a gathering spot for friends to enjoy new takes on classic American dishes. Always great food (we recommend the porkchop!), great atmosphere, and great service. Bonus, they have excellent cocktails including zero-proof cocktails!
Bar Crudo - A modern raw bar, that’s elegant and approachable, we love that the interiors are casual yet chic, with a welcoming vibe. If you’re an oyster fan, definitely check it out!
Horsefeather- A cocktail focused restaurant with great bites. Delicious salads, wings, and hearty entrees with a gorgeous interior! Try the gochujang wings and duck fat fries. They also take reservations for brunch - which is super rare in the city!
A LITTLE BIT FURTHER BUT WORTH THE WALK
Shuggie’s Pizza - An inspiring pizza spot that uses no-waste ingredients.
Stonemill Matcha - A matcha focused cafe, this place is so popular with the locals that it reopened after closing last summer. We love the matcha cream pie and the sesame puffs, but also they serve a killer Japanese lunch menu include sandwiches and Japanese curry bowls.
Bar Partime- “Probably the best wine bar in the world.” Find natural wines and an incredible ambiance.
Buddy - Cute wine bar with great cocktails and food. Each dish is thought out and executed brilliantly. From the walnut bread with the Pumpkin butter and apricot mostarda and the golden beets with celeriac and pickled grapes. Don't skip the trumpet mushrooms!
True Laurel - Serves food and drinks for dining outdoors on our patio, indoors, for to-go, or for delivery!
The Felix - Exclusive underground drinking den & music venue. Amazing ambience and yummy Asian cocktails.
Bodega SF - Natural wine bar for everyone!
Bar Sprezzatura - Italian-inspired Aperitivo & Cicchetti Bar. One of the prettiest restaurants in the city! Drinks are really good, service is on point. Parking is quite easy, park right by the stairs. Food is delicious. Don’t miss the gem salad, duck pasta and the seafood risotto.
La Conessa - Extremely nice interior and simple but delicious menu.
Handroll Project - If you like handrolls and crispy, salted seaweed paper then try this place out.
Harlan Records - This place is inspired by Japanese record lounges. The vibes of Harlan are modern and they do live DJs on most days of the week.
YoKai - A Hi-Fi bar and charcoal grill.
